A better understanding of the EU as well as improving social and democratic citizen involvement within the UE requires not only raising awareness, but in many environments, also overcoming natural barriers that stand in the way of achieving these goals. Deaf, in their own countries, have a many problems with administration, education, legislative or social life by communication problems. The degree of this difficulty increases at international contacts, even among the deaf. The awareness of the EU objectives, this group of people’s participation in social and political life in their own country is, at the moment, almost impossible.
